Hi, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Elias, a graduate of Michigan State University in Japanese Language and Culture. I grew up in northern Michigan before moving downstate, meaning that up until this point I have lived in Michigan my entire life. I am also a trans, gay man. Everything I’ve stated above colors the way I see the world, as well as the way the world sees me.

I will be teaching English to elementary school students in Higashiomi, in Shiga prefecture. I have taught Japanese to high schoolers, as well as spending time substitute teaching in elementary schools in the US.

はじめまして、イラヤス・ヤングです。ミシガン州立大学で日本語と文化を習いました。僕はミシガン州北部で育ち、その後ミシガン州に移り住みました。つまり、この時点までずっとミシガンで暮らしてきました。僕もトランスジェンダーでゲイです。僕が言ったことはすべて、私の視点と他の人の視点に影響を与えます。

滋賀県の東近江市に小学校の映画の先生です。前に、アメリカに高校で日本語を教えました。僕も小学校の代理教師でした。
